Approvals for Drip Dispersal

Massachusetts Remedial Use Approval essentially allows for the use of drip dispersal on any site to replace an existing on-site wastewater system. Pre-treatment of the wastewater is required. Any Massachusetts approved treatment device can be used with the drip system. Generally, these treatment devices allow for a reduction from the drip tubing to the water table or are used when there is a lack of soil.

Massachusetts General Use Approval allows for drip dispersal to be used for new construction or for the replacement of an existing system. Under this approval, no treatment device is necessary. With respect to Title 5, groundwater offsets must be adhered to unless a variance is requested.
